Universal Design elements were used in designing this guest bathroom.  This bathroom will be used by people of various ages and abilities and we wanted to ensure, to the greatest extent, it would provide safety and convenience.

The custom designed vanity has plenty of storage for guests' toiletries, plus the shelf below is a great place for extra towels or a hair dryer so guests do not need to go searching.  We added legs to the floating vanity for extra support in case someone needs to lean on it.

Ease of use for someone with mobility issues was addressed by replacing the bathtub with a shower.  The shower does not have a door so that entry is simple.  The black stone on the shower curb gives cues to someone with visual impairment that there is a change in flooring.

The grab bars in the shower match the style of the shower fixture.  A grab bar was used as a towel bar if extra support is needed in entering the shower.

We mixed metals, with chrome fixtures for durability and easy cleaning, and used black metal accents everywhere else to add definition.
